Geospatial Research Assistant Position

The Geospatial Research Assistant will assist with the spatial modeling of multiple stressors in Arctic marine systems as part of a recently funded Stanford Catalyst for Collaborative Solutions project. This position is tailored towards a master’s or PhD student interested in engaging in interdisciplinary ocean-related geospatial science and policy.

We seek enterprising students interested in working in a professional, interdisciplinary work environment. The Geospatial Research Assistant will support the recently funded Stanford Catalyst for Collaborative Solutions project, while strengthening their communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. The Center for Ocean Solutions strives to equip and inspire emerging leaders to pursue and excel in a career at the evolving intersection of geospatial science and policy, a nexus critically important for solving our ocean and coastal challenges.

The Geospatial Research Assistant will be supervised by Center staff and will participate in project-based team meetings and all-staff meetings. The Research Assistant will have the opportunity to work on interdisciplinary teams with social and physical scientists, lawyers, and other interns, supporting project work while learning about the social, legal, and biophysical underpinnings of resource management decisions.
